Attention Parents, Staff, and Community Members,
We wanted to inform you that today, at around 9:15 am, the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office notified Bethel Elementary and Peasley Middle Schools to initiate a secure hold due to a police matter in a nearby neighborhood. Subsequently, at approximately 9:45 am, our safety response was escalated, and both Bethel and Peasley were placed in a lockdown. Additionally, Petsworth Elementary was instructed to enter a lockdown at 10:00 am.
We want to reassure you that all students and staff in the affected schools are safe. This precautionary measure was taken in response to a community threat, and we are coordinating closely with law enforcement to ensure everyone's safety. Please remain vigilant and follow all instructions from authorities. We will provide further updates as soon as possible.
